The 21st FINA Diving World Cup 2018 was held from today (4 June) to 10 June in the swimming pool of Wuhan Sports Center. There were about 400 athletes from 26 countries and regions participating in the competitions. The event has gathered the world's highest level of diving athletes, including members of the Chinese diving “Dream Team”, Jack Laugher, champion of Rio Olympic, Cheong Jun Hoong and Kylie, both champions of world championship, and other athletes from 26 countries and regions around the world.


The diving world cup was organized by the FINA, undertaken by the Swimming Management Center of General Administration of Sport of China, the Wuhan Municipal Government, and the Hubei Provincial Sports Bureau. Hosa is the official costume sponsor of the competition.


In this competition, the competition between the two competitions of women 3m springboard will be extremely intense, Canada's famous diving athlete Jennifer Abel will participate in the women 3m springboard, and she will also be a partner of Citrini Melissa in the women synchronized 3m springboard. Previously, this pair of partner was defeated by Shi Tingmao/Chang Yani from China Team in the 2018 FINA World Diving Series in Canada Montreal and was awarded the first runner up. In Wuhan, this pair of Canadians partner will once again make a strong challenge to the Chinese team.


US diving team players Johnson Steele and Loschiavo Brandon will participate in the men synchronized 10m platform and compete with the Chen Aisen/Yang Hao from China team. In April of this year, they were defeated by Chen Aisen/Yang Jian in the competition in Montreal and were awarded the first runner up. In this World Cup, Johnson/Loschiavo team will seek a breakthrough and strive for the champion.

British famous athlete Daniel will participate in the men 3m springboard. He once was a partner of the British diving genius Daley in the 2018 FINA Diving Series Beijing station and was awarded the second runner up of men synchronized 10m platform. This single combat is undoubtedly a big challenge for him. In addition, Jack Laugher and Chris Mears, the men synchronized 3m springboard championship team for the Rio Olympic, will once again participate in the men synchronized 3m springboard, aiming at the world champion.


Famous athletes from other countries will also include Ophelie from France, Cheong Jun Hoong from Malaysia and Kylie from Australia. Other than active sports stars, Gou Zhongwen, the director of the General Administration of Sport of China, will also be a spectator in Wuhan. In addition, former diving queens Guo Jingjing, Wu Minxia and Chen Ruolin will come to Wuhan to participate in public welfare activities during the World Cup Diving competition.

It is worth mentioning that Jiangcheng's sports fans will also meet the famous diving athlete Tong Hui from Wuhan. He is the current head coach of the French diving team. He also led the team to participate in the competition.


This Diving World Cup has 11 events, including men and women 3m springboard, men and women synchronized 3m springboard, mixed synchronized 3m springboard, men and women 10m platform, men and women synchronized 10m platform and mixed synchronized 10m platform.

As the official sponsor of the FINA event, Hosa has been sponsoring the FINA/HOSA 10-kilometer Marathon Swimming World Cup for three consecutive years since 2015 and has sponsored the FINA World Diving Series in the same period. In March this year, FINA and Hosa Group held a strategic cooperation press conference in Beijing, announcing that Hosa Group would continue to work closely with FINA as the title sponsor of the FINA/HOSA World Marathon Swimming Series (former FINA 10km Marathon Swimming World Cup) and the official sponsor of the FINA World Diving Series.
